On November 15-17th 2011, in the campus of the American University in Cairo (Cairo, Egypt), Emprendae we took part, as principal trainers/facilitators, at the “Egypt Green Days – Empowering Changemakers: Green Entrepreneurship and Ecodesign Workshop” organized by CPRAC (Regional Activity Centre for Cleaner Production) – UNEP (United Nations Environment Program. CEDARE and the American University in Cairo co-organized and hosted the event respectively.
The Egypt Green Days program was composed of three workshops aimed at providing participants with information, ideas and tools for creating green businesses, organizing sustainable events and fighting against dangerous chemical substances.
The “Green Entrepreneurship & Ecodesign Workshop” in particular was conceived to introduce Egyptian entrepreneurs to the concepts of green entrepreneurship and ecodesign through a variety of tools and applied technical methodologies from the green economy. Besides, representatives from ethical financial institutions as well as successful green entrepreneurs from across the Mediterranean region also participated in the event and shared their valuable insights and experience on the field.
On top of the theoretical lectures, we co-facilitated several hands-on sessions in which participants, working in teams, were given the opportunity to develop a green business plan for some real-life projects previously selected.
